Text Messaging Comes to Disney World Disney Parks Mobile website has announced a new way to find out wait times, meet-and-greet locations, and more. You must register before you travel at www.disneyparksmobile.com. This service is available to wireless customers with any cellular service. When you're at the parks, you can text WAIT and the name of an attraction to 37275 to receive wait times, MEET and a character name will get you meet-and-greet information, etc. If you have multiple trips planned through the year, you can use the service for up to twelve days per year.

Sounds Like Summer is an annual live concert series at Epcot theme park that brings together a talented collection of tribute bands to authentically recreate the classic hits of legendary musical icons. The ESPN RISE Games will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex this July 14-27, 2010. This multisport event features elite and competitive sports competitions, anchored by the AAU Boys Basketball Super Showcase, the Under Armour All-America Softball game and elite high school football event Gridiron Kings. "Summer Nightastic Fireworks Spectacular," will also fill the night sky with vivid colors and brilliant visual effects set to a backdrop of whimsical music. There will also be a dance party featuring high-energy music played by DJs.

Night of Joy September 10 - 11, 2010 An annual celebration, the 2010 event will return to it's original home in the Magic Kingdom and feature top contemporary Christian music performers. The long-running series has played to a combined audience in excess of 650,000.
Ride! Rock! Rejoice!
Night of Joy is a contemporary Christian music festival held Friday and Saturday, September 10 and 11, 2010 at Magic Kingdom theme park in Florida. From 7:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. each night, hear live performances by today's top bands in contemporary Christian rock, pop and gospel as you ride some of the Park's most rockin' attractions.
Also as part of the 2010 Night of Joy, the Disney Gospel Choir Fest will take place at Epcot at the American Gardens Theatre on Saturday, September 11. Master of Ceremonies for the Gospel Choir Fest Competition will be Smokie Norful, Grammy award-winning gospel artist. Judges will include Myron Butler, Grammy award-winning record producer; Larry Blackwell, Vice President of EMI Gospel; Ken Pennell, President of EMI Gospel.
Every ensemble receives an exclusive Disney Gospel Choir Fest Award that the choir will be proud to take home. The winning choir will receive a contract with EMI Gospel to record a single to be distributed as a digital download. In addition, the winning choir receives a chance to perform that evening during the Night of Joy Event at the Magic Kingdom including a pre-performance sound check.
Ticket packages will be offered that include all competition/event fees and admission to Night of Joy on September 11, 2010.
The Night of Joy artists perform on several stages around Magic Kingdom theme park, which means you can choose from different musical performances and locations throughout the festival.

A new 300-seat restaurant/pizzeria, Via Napoli, being constructed in the Italy pavilion in Epcot, is slated to open in September. The construction will create a whole new look, the area has been extended back another 50-60 feet and there will be a new piazza. In Europe there is often one building with different facades out front and that's what you will see in Via Napoli.This pizzeria will feature a menu inspired by the famous pizzerias of southern Italy. The restaurant will have wood-burning ovens, and will import water from a source that most resembles the water in Naples, Italy, home of some of the world's best pizza dough. The 3 pizza ovens are inspired by the 3 famous volcanoes in Italy: Mount Etna (Sicily), Stromboli (Aeolian Islands), and Mount Vesuvius (near Naples). The 3 oven "mouths" where the pizzas go in are inspired by Italy's Park of Monsters sculptures. Very thin crust pizza and when it's ready it will be served quickly and hot. The menu also will feature pastas, salads, sandwiches and Italian wines.The Patina Restaurant Group also operates Tutto Italia Ristorante at the pavilion.

2010 Inaugural Disney Wine & Dine Half-Marathon Weekend October 1-2, 2010 One of the really unique features of this new race is that it will be run at night. In fact, this race will quite possibly be the only half-marathon run under the stars. The weekend will also include a two-day expo, a 5K family fun run, kids races and a lot of special Disney touches. The half-marathon will start at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and finish inside Epcot with an exclusive post-race party at the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Haunted Carriage Ride Last Event: October 2, 2009- November 1, 2009 The Haunted Carriage Ride is a 25 minute narrated ride through the dark woods of Fort Wilderness and along the shore of Bay Lake. This ride will offer visuals and sounds from the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" as your driver narrate the story for you. The ride depart from Crockett's Tavern.
Ride Times: 7:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. There will be three carriages available for each listed time.

Pop Warner Super Bowl December 4 - 11, 2010 The nation’s top youth football teams and players will converge on Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex for the 54rd Pop Warner Super Bowl this December. The event will mark the 15th year held at Walt Disney World Resort, involving more than 60 teams. To reach the Pop Warner Super Bowl, teams nationwide battle local and regional tournaments throughout the year. Teams compete at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in four divisions based on size and age: Jr. Pee Wee (ages 8-10), Pee Wee (9-11 yrs.), Jr. Midget (10-12 yrs.) and Midget (11-14 yrs.). .
Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Championships Last Event: December 6 - 10, 2010 The Cheer & Dance Championships will feature over 400 cheer/dance squads who will compete at the four-day long event. Cheer and dance squads compete in four different age ranges (Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midget, and Midget), as well as two squad sizes (Small and Large) and three competition categories.

Walt Disney World Marathon January 6 - 9, 2011 The Walt Disney World Marathon is annual 26.2-mile adventure races through all four Disney theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The event has a half marathon, three-day health expo and a 5K on its agenda. Congratulations to Adriano Bastos and Lisa Mizutani, winners in the 2010 men's and women's divisions. 2011 registration opens at noon on Monday, January 11, 2010
The Fantasyland Expansion in the Magic Kingdom will necessitate the closure of several existing Magic Kingdom park areas in 2011: • Ariel's Grotto • Pooh's Playful Spot • Toontown
In addition, certain entertainment experiences will be relocated: • Meet-and-greets with Mickey Mouse will take place in Town Square Exposition Hall • Meet-and-greets with Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, and Tinker Bell and her friends will take place in Town Square Exposition Hall
